Brackets & Playoffs
Brackets are used to manage multi-round tournaments or end-of-season playoffs. GamedayTracker automates the advancement of teams so you can focus on the games.
Step 1: Create the Bracket
- From your League page, click the More dropdown and select Brackets.
- Click the add_circle New Bracket button.
- Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "2024 Spring Playoffs") and select the associated Season.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Initialize the Structure
- Click on the name of the bracket you just created to open the Bracket Builder.
- Select the Number of Teams participating in the tournament (e.g., 4, 8, 16).
- The system will automatically generate a standard single-elimination bracket layout.
Step 3: Assign Teams and Schedule
- For every game in the first round, select the Home and Away teams from the dropdown menus.
- Assign a Date, Time, and Location for each game in the entire bracket.
- Review your setup and click the Build Bracket button at the bottom of the page to save all games to the schedule.

Automated Advancement
Once the bracket is built, the winners of each game will automatically advance to the next round as soon as a game is marked as Final. You don't need to manually move teams through the bracket!
Managing Bracket Games
You can manage bracket games just like regular season games. Clicking a game card within the bracket view allows you to add scores, individual stats, and update the game status.
